Well, my Amino box is blinking blue after rebooting the box, twice. You must have pushed new code to the Amino, which has disabled…something. So now I’m stuck with channel two. That’s it. That’s all I get. It reminds me of last summer, when my Amino box went down during the Olympics. I’ve been on hold for 25 minutes, gone through six incredibly annoying excuses for musical compositions, and have been advised that I should hold, as the next available agent will handle my call. He or she hasn’t, and I suspect that if I had sufficient battery life, I could let this phone burn all night long and still never reach you guys. It’s lame, but it’s what I’ve come to expect (I’ve gone the rounds with you and Nuvont, etc., for a long time, now, trying to get decent customer support.) Please contact me, so that I can watch a few more days of TV, while setting up a new service and canceling with you.

Thwarted again,

Nathan

Broadweave update, for the last time (for now)

without comments

My PFSense box pulled in the new Dynamic Static IP address info, so all I had to do was change the information that I had in EveryDNS. After that, everything came up roses. Yay! Wish I had known this was going to happen, ahead of time. Oh, well.

Broadweave update, again

without comments

Justin, who was on his game at Broadweave let me know that I was probably just transitioned over from Nuvont to Broadweave, so my public IP address changed (I wish there was some way, technically, that a company could let its customers know that it was changing IP address information…if only there was some way to communicate, possibly over the internet…)

Anyway, he gave me the new IP information, which I’ve set in everydns.com…so we’ll wait and see… Thanks, Justin.

Broadweave Update

without comments

Spoke to a rep over at Broadweave, who was about as helpful as a he could have been (I’m assuming that he was tied up, unconscious, and bound by law to not be helpful). Apparently, they can only talk to whoever is at home, so that they can run through a checklist of what lights are lit up on the WWP box. I asked him what they needed to know, that I could find out from Wendy. He insisted that Wendy had to call them. This is the kind of effort that I’ve come to appreciate from Broadweave and other such companies.

Broadweave internet down, again…

without comments

This morning, I woke up and checked my email. I noticed that I had an SMS from http://mon.itor.us, letting me know that nelsonshack.com was down, as of 12:54 AM, this morning…So I tried to browse to www.bloodytoe.com from my phone and sure enough- it was down. I tried to browse the internet on my Mac and had no luck. So I used PDANet to get online with my Mac and sent Broadweave a note that I was having issues.Picture 5.png

On my way to work, I called Broadweave to let them know what was going on. A friendly agent named Ricky created a ticket, but there seems to be some disconnect between my home phone number and my Broadweave account (seems like this was an issue, before…)

So I’m hoping they can get me back up, soon…

If I’m not up by tonight, I’ll have to look at the Word Wide Packets box, downstairs (didn’t have time, this morning.)

Broadweave Problems: Update #17

without comments

Got an email from Luke, who, as always, is helpful and understanding.  Looks like we have an STB coming that will work.  So we’ll get that put into place and put this thing behind us, soon enough.  Rock on, Luke.  Give that guy a raise.

Broadweave Problems: Update #16

without comments

I’ve been negligent in my updates on Broadweave, but here’s a positive one.  We have one television that can now pause, record, etc.  So we’re looking pretty good.  There is one box left that isn’t working, but Luke has pretty much got that one handled, so we’ll be up and running, in no time, I think.  I just have to pick up another STB to fix that one.  Thanks for continuing to read these Broadweave updates, especially those of you with guns to your head, which are forcing you to do so.  Man, you guys crack me up.

Public service announcement:

without comments

This might be a good time for a public service announcement from this blog:

If any of you are “bored to death” of anything that I write in this blog, kindly feel free to STOP READING THIS BLOG.  I feel badly that some of you have felt coerced into reading these Broadweave posts and want you to know that there are many, many people who are happily not reading this blog.

Some of them can even spell.

On a completely unrelated note, I’d like to thank “Sparky” for his advice.  Maybe I’ll check into getting an ADB STB, so that all of my problems can be solved.  Thanks, Sparky.

Broadweave Problems: Update #15

with 3 comments

I’ve decided to rename the title of this rant, since I really have no idea whether the Amino 500 is the issue, or not (I understand it’s not).

Seriously, folks, this is getting to be ridiculous (or was, weeks ago).  Luke has been my ally at Broadweave, but either way you look at it, to not have a resolution by now, is…unacceptable.  We now are able to watch TV on one set top box (we have two).  But on the STB that “works”, we still can’t pause television or record.  The STB works, solely as an authentication medium between us and Broadweave.  The other STB won’t accept a password.

The interesting thing about this, is that the word “Broadweave”, on Google Blogs, lists this blog on the front page.  That can’t be a good thing for Broadweave (no one likes bad press) or me (no ones likes having an issue that prompts them to write SO MUCH).

I don’t understand why they can’t just set me up as a new customer, start over and get me up and running.

Some of you are wondering why in the world I’d even stick this out.  For me, my number one priority is having a fast internet connection.  I host my own servers, which means the more bandwidth, the better.  When we signed up, we signed up for a package deal, wherein we get phone, internet and television for a low price, per month.  When you host servers, to change your ISP is a pain, to say the least (or has been, in my experience).

So rather than change everything around, I wait.  I feel bad that Luke has handled this situation by himself.  He’s come by my house (I’m surprised that I didn’t record that in this blog), after hours, and generally works his butt off.  As far as I can tell, Luke is running that place.  No one (besides Luke) has called to offer help, apologize, or just make things right.  I’ve been promised “compensation”, but what does that mean, exactly?  It’s almost been a month (4 days left).  A month.  Man…  I’ll call, tomorrow, I guess.

Broadweave update (you may skip this post)

without comments

A few days ago, I got an email from Luke. He just needed a MAC address so that they could revert my Amino back to an old setting, thus getting us going, temporarily. I was in Saint George, so I didn’t have access to the MAC address. So, I slipped for a few days. Like I said, nothing to see here. Sort of a boring post…but a necessary update.
