Roxie and Reagan have ear infections
Roxie and Reagan went to the doctor, tonight, because they’ve had symptoms of conjuctivitus (their eyes have been draining) and Reagan’s complained about her ears.
The doctor confirmed an ear infection, so they are being prescribed an antibiotic. So we are on, like, week 5 of someone in the fam being sick.
Roxie’s first bee sting

Tonight, Roxie got stung by a bee that we’d trapped in our sliding glass door. I guess someone opened it up when Roxie was standing there, so the bee took its frustrations out on her.
Wendy figured that she’d been stung, but when I examined her arm (where we thought she’d been stung), I couldn’t find anything. I asked her to show me where it hurt. She showed me her hand and I saw it- a big, black stinger right in the tip of her left, middle finger.
At first it looked like a thorn of some kind, but when we used I used tweezers and pulled it out, it was definitely a stinger. Even though I got the whole thing out, it left a little bruise on her finger, which mostly disappeared in an hour.
Anyway, it was all quite traumatic and has finally become a recent memory. I just checked on Roxie, who is asleep in bed, and she seems to be doing well.

People I’d like to fight
Tonight, I had run 4 and a half miles before the inevitable happened: A car drove close and honked at me. These people do it, all of the time. It was icy, dark, and cold. The conditions are dangerous enough for a runner, biker, or walker, without having to worry about those idiots who would try to veer and honk at you to scare you.
So this is an open entry to those who would, from the comfort of their cars, endanger someone who is exercising on the road. Get out of your car and see how it goes when you’re not protected inside of your speeding, reckless vehicle. Bring it on. I’m sick of you people. If you want to be funny, do it outside of your car. If you want to be brave for your friends, do it outside of your car. If you’ve got a problem with me, get out of your car and let me know. I’ve got some things to say, myself.
Homeopathic Voodoo Pills
Haven’t been doing so well in the alergy department. This morning, I went though a quarter of a roll of toilet paper on the way to work, just sneezing and draining, etc. It’s not good.
At 9:15, this morning, I was given a homeopathic by a co-worker. Another co-worker chimed in that this stuff works and to wait 20 minutes after the 4 or 5, little white spheres had dissolved under my toungue. It’s 9:41, now, and amazingly, I really am clearing up. Sort of weird.
UPDATE 10:05 AM: OK, maybe they’re not working, after all. I just picked up two more boxes of Kleenex from the IS department secretary.
